The National Association of Self-Instructional Language Programs (NASILP) is North America's only professional organization specifically devoted to the fostering of self-instructional academic programs in foreign language skills acquisition. At the secondary, college and university levels, NASILP provides ongoing assistance in materials selection and utilization, testing standardization, program design and operation, and multi-media orientation for coordinators, tutors, examiners, and students. In addition to its involvement in text design and modification, and the development of related instructional and training materials in audio/video/print formats, NASILP also provides various channels through which are shared the special concerns and unique expertise of this association's members.

As an institutional member of NASILP, the University of New Orleans CLP follows the NASILP guidelines, has access to these services, and is also afforded partnership with other programs of the same nature throughout the country.
